Mechanical Engineering Intern

Job Description

The engineering intern will be a team-member of the Mechanical Engineering group and will assist a group of engineers with various aspects of CAD design, drawings, analysis, and assembly/test documents, etc. Projects would vary from technology development programs to custom space flight hardware, and may include mechanical drawings, basic wiring/cable drawings, optical drawings, etc. The candidate is expected to be able to work alone or in a small group, be self-motivated, and able to communicate with other engineers within the group. Typically, engineering interns at ATA are given a small project that they can work throughout the summer, then the remaining time is spent supporting other engineers on various aspects of other projects.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience: 

  • - Enrolled in Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering or similar engineering program

  • - Basic experience with CAD software

  • - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • - Must be a U.S. Citizen
