Program Manager

Job Description

The Programs Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the improvement of organizational efficiency, specifically in supplier relations, procurement identification, receiving, property control, facility resource planning and inventory control to accelerate development and long-term success of ATA’s programs. A qualified and ambitious candidate has the opportunity to combine communication and analytical skills with creativity to lead the organization towards achieving greater operational efficiency and growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for accelerating the success of a rapidly growing business. The candidate will possess a strong understanding of defense programs to be able to contribute to the organizational strategic execution planning process. The position allows a candidate to focus on improving the operations of running a small business while working in an innovative environment with regular interactions with leaders, staff, and suppliers.

Essential Functions: 

  • - Manage and maintain a complaint property system

  • - Support program requirements for material tracking and ensuring work areas follow procedures

  • - Manage the system of collecting program organizational needs. Conduct planning and
      executing to those needs to include reporting of metrics

  • - Derive insights from current operations to recommend organizational improvements in all
      phases of supply chain and program management

  • - Ensure material is managed properly and ready for internal and external system audits

  • - Create customized reports and analyses to support proposals all the way to program
      execution and close-out

  • - Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to build proper infrastructure for growth

  • - Evaluate regularly the efficiency of organization procedures according to objectives and
      apply improvements

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a professional/secure office and laboratory environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines and other equipment as needed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are nominally Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.

Required Education and Experience: 

  • - Bachelor’s degree with 10-15 years of business and/or programs experience

  • - U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance

  • - Proven experience with import and export laws (ITAR and EAR)

  • - Experience working with Deltek GCS Premier, MS Office Suite, Outlook and Impromptu reporting

  • - Experience with website management through SharePoint

  • - Computer/application experience

  • - Reporting

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • - Master’s degree
