Jr. Electrical Engineer

Job Description

The engineer will become a team-member of the Embedded Systems group and will design, simulate, and test electrical subsystems for terrestrial and space-based opto-mechanical applications (e.g. fast steering mirrors, inertial reference units, camera acquisition and processing systems). Electrical engineers at ATA provide support in circuit design, simulation, test, troubleshooting, printed circuit board design, and cable and wiring diagrams.

Essential Functions: 

  • - Circuit design and SPICE simulation

  • - Schematic capture (via Altium Designer)

  • - Printed-circuit-board layout (via Altium Designer)

  • - Electrical circuit test and troubleshooting

Required Education and Experience: 

  • - Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering (Electrical or Computer Engineering) from an
      accredited four-year university with more than two years of experience in circuit design,
      schematic capture, and layout.

  • - Must be a U.S. person, and able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • - Master’s degree in Engineering or other relevant Engineering (Electrical or Computer
      Engineering) from an accredited university with two or more years of experience with
      circuit design, schematic capture, and layout

  • - Experience using Altium Designer

  • - Experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) or System-on-Chip (SoC) devices

  • - Experience with programming languages including C, C++, VHDL, and MATLAB scripting

  • - Current Secret DoD Clearance

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work : This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Primary Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
