System Administrator

Job Description

ATA is seeking an experienced System Administrator with strong Virtualization, Storage and Networking experience in support to the Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Advanced Technology (SVAT) contract. The administrator will be an integral member of a joint Government and contractor team that operates in a very dynamic environment. The administrator’s duties will include the support of a complex research and development environment spanning multiple locations and residing on classified networks. In addition, the System Administrator may be required to assist on other Space Vehicles Advanced Technology (SVAT) contract-related tasks as needed.

Essential Functions: 

  • - Configuration and management of virtualized enclave including hosts, storage, and networking

  • - Maintain, administer, and troubleshoot applications, operating systems, and hardware related
      to Microsoft Windows Workstation/Servers based operating systems and Linux
      RHEL operating systems

  • - Manage and administer all aspects of user account management such as password, group, and
      privilege management for user access

  • - Maintain system readiness through the implementation, administration, and management of
      DISA STIG’s, and other related DoD policies on all related system

  • - Represent ATA well with customers

  • - Perform all other duties as assigned

  • - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • - Must to be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance

  • - DoD 8570.1-M certification (i.e. Security+)

  • - Demonstrated experience with VMWare, Redhat, Windows and Cisco networking products

  • - Ability to troubleshoot network routing and configuration issues between the enclave and
      external sources on different IC network segments

  • - Familiarity with DoD RMF process; deployment and support of HBSS, ACAS, and WSUS


  • - Active TS/SCI U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance

  • - CISSP

  • - Proven experience with Cisco UCS, TACLANE cryptographic devices, Docker, and Nimble storage

  • - Ability to work with limited to no supervision

  • - Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • - Experience in the development and scoping of system IT lifecycle (identification of “quick wins”
      coupled with long term IT strategy)

  • - Expert-level knowledge of deploying and maintain HBSS, ACAS, and enterprise audit systems in
      classified environments with varying degrees of external connectivity

Primary Location: Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, NM

Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
