Technical Recruiter

Job Description

ATA is looking for a Technical Recruiter to join our HR department who will help us grow our various engineering teams. Responsibilities will include sourcing, screening, and providing a shortlist of qualified candidates for various engineering roles. You will also network online and offline with potential candidates to promote ATA as an employer of choice, reduce our time to hire, and ensure that we attract only the best candidates. You will be expected to build a strong tech-talent pipeline from which to capture the best and the brightest. This position will also be expected to perform various other HR tasks as required, such as filling positions, from requisition to onboarding, benefits interface with employees, Affirmative Action and EEO tracking and reporting, assisting with writing/updating Policy and Procedures, among other things.

Essential Functions: 

  • - Review submitted job descriptions in order to clearly understand the needs of the hiring

  • - Perform Job Analysis

  • - Write and post all job openings

  • - Source potential candidates on niche platforms such as SPIE, IEEE, etc.

  • - Leverage “Industry Specialists” and technical professional societies (such as SPIE, IEEE)
      to source qualified candidates

  • - Work with job placement firms when warranted

  • - Screen resumes for required skill sets, education, etc.

  • - Telephonically pre-screen candidates

  • - Perform reference checks

  • - Perform salary surveys

  • - Set up interviews, to include hiring manager, and requested team members

  • - Follow up with unselected/unqualified candidates

  • - Arrange for travel to ATA for interview

  • - Reach out to passive candidates with job postings

  • - Participate in technical conferences and other meetings in order to network

  • - Positively promote ATA as a great place to work

  • - Stay up to date on compliance as it relates to recruiting

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a professional office environment, and within an Air Force Base facility. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines and other equipment as needed. 

Required Education and Experience: 

  • - Proven work experience as a Technical Recruiter

  • - 5+ years Human Resources experience

  • - Experience with various interview formats such as telephone, Skype, and in person interviews

  • - Familiarity with Affirmative Action and EEO requirements and reporting

  • - Proven knowledge of sourcing avenues such as social media, etc.

  • - Excellent verbal and written skills

  • - Clear understanding of labor law

  • - Proven experience in onboarding new employees, to include required paperwork for benefits,
      I-9s, etc.

  • - Experience with writing and updating Policy and Procedure

  • - U.S. Person able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Clearance

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • - Technical knowledge of and the ability to understand engineering requirements

  • - Experience working in Government Contracting

  • - 10+ years in Technical Recruiting
