Radio Frequency (RF) Hardware (HW) Engineer

Job Description

The successful candidate will support RF multiple projects, emphasizing using software defined radio(s) for multiple RF system development projects. The engineer’s duties will span supporting RF system design, particularly design of an SDR as part of a larger RF system, building actual transmitter/receiver hardware, and SDR software with help/direction from senior engineers, testing RF components and sub-systems, preparation and conducting experiments, and RF system calibration. The kinds of RF components to be integrated include waveguide components for high frequencies, and coax components for lower frequencies. Coordination with other design engineers, particularly senior RF, and Electrical engineers is expected.


  • - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Physics, with RF emphasis; or equitable experience

  • - Experience performing laboratory and field testing including test planning, setup, data collection,
      and data analysis

  • - Experience with RF fabrication

  • - Experience with RF analysis and test equipment

  • - Proficient with Microsoft Office products

  • - Experience with software defined radios

  • - Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Clearance


  • - Advanced degree in Physics, or Engineering with RF focus; or equitable experience

  • - Experience with mm wave components and testing

  • - Knowledge/experience with S-parameter analysis

  • - Ability to develop system link budgets

  • - MATLAB and LabVIEW experience

  • - Communication Forward Error Correction techniques

  • - Current U.S. DoD Clearance
