Business Development Manager

Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager to help us expand our clientele. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with new and existing clients.

Our technology company requires a Business Development Manager with strong interpersonal and communication skills, a focus on organization, and enhanced multitasking abilities. Sales, marketing and strategic analysis are important aspects of the position, along with exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to close deals. The ideal candidate has experience researching market trends, targeting relationships and using proven methods to develop our business strategy while retaining marketing partners. The manager will be asked to build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.

Essential Functions: 

A business development professional has three primary responsibilities: 

  • - Identifying new sales leads

  • - Representing ATA with intimate knowledge of our capabilities, products and services

  • - Maintaining fruitful relationships with existing customers

When it comes to generating leads, day-to-day duties typically include: 

  • - Researching organizations and individuals to identify new leads and new markets

  • - Researching the needs of other companies and learning who makes decisions about purchasing

  • - Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings

  • - Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives

  • - Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events

When it comes to the challenge of actually selling, other typical duties include: 

  • - Preparing PowerPoint presentations and sales displays

  • - Contacting clients to inform them about new developments in the company’s products

  • - Developing quotes and supporting / leading proposal efforts

  • - Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person

  • - Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills

  • - Ability to adhere to defined BD processes and procedures

  • - Ability to sell within defined business thrusts or strategic campaigns

  • - Ability to represent the company in a professional and respectful manner

  • - Proposal management and proposal writing skills

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.
 

Required: 

  • - Bachelors in Engineering or other relevant Engineering (Electrical, Computer System Software,
     
      Aerospace, etc.) with more than 15 years of experience in Aerospace Defense business

  • - Must be a U.S. Citizen, and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance

Desired: 

  • - Master’s in Business Administration with more than 10 years of experience in Aerospace Defense

  • - Security Clearance –TS
