Small Satellite Portfolio Intern

Job Description

The successful candidate will serve as an intern on the Small Satellite Portfolio (SSP) program on the STRIVE contract. The candidate will perform tasks as assigned by the engineering staff to prepare the facility for upcoming missions.

Essential Functions: 

  • - Support engineering with inventory and general cleanup of various SSP related areas

  • - Assist with the setup and inventory of a cleanroom

  • - Technician support

  • - Designing for high bay and inventory control software

  • - Other duties as assigned

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

Minimally a 10-hour week. Days and hours of work will vary due to contractual requirements and intern schedule.



Required Education and Experience: 

  • - High School student

  • - U.S. citizen, able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Top Secret Clearance
