Assistant Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) Engineer

Job Description

ATA Aerospace is seeking a self-motivated, productive, results-oriented Assistant Production and Fabrication Specialist who will assist the Production and Fabrication Team Lead. This position will be an integral production and fabrication team member that operates in a very dynamic, fast-paced, highly-agile team environment. The prospective individual needs to be able to show 10 years of experience working in space systems build and test.

Essential Functions: 

  • - Understanding of mechanical and electrical fabrication and integrations

  • - Manage and maintain work flow within the production and fabrication area in coordination
      with Program Management and Engineering Leads while also being able to
      perform the tasks and assist or lead as required

  • - Ability to perform build, inspect, and test of highly complex systems and sub-systems

  • - Interface with multiple disciplines of the engineering team and develop processes and procedures
      for manufacture and test

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work: 

Days and hours of work will vary due to contractual requirements.


Travel is primarily local during the business day. May require some off-site travel.


  • - Master of Science and two years of experience, or a Bachelor of Science with five years of
      experience in a STEM related field

  • - Ten years of experience working in space systems build and test

  • - Held or currently holds IPC and NASA certifications for assembly and inspection

  • - IPC and NASA Standards experience

  • - Must be a U.S. citizen, and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD clearance

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • - Demonstrated ability to work within Policy, Procedure and Standards

  • - Current U.S. DoD Secret security clearance
