Program Schedule Coordinator

Job Description

The successful candidate will serve as a Program Planner/Scheduler for the STRIVE Program. They will be an integral member of a joint Government and contractor team that operates in a very dynamic environment. This team is involved in cradle-to-grave engineering activities for experimental space missions, in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland Air Force Base.

The candidate must be an enthusiastic and driven self-starter who runs towards problems and issues with a desire to fix them. As part of a small team doing very big things, we are looking for you to create innovative solutions that you design and implement on your own!

Essential Functions: 

  • - Assumes the responsibility for the scheduling of technical projects

  • - Provides scheduling and planning support for multiple Task Orders and programs

  • - Responsibilities include a wide range of duties involving initial job planning, scheduling of time,
      scheduling of materials, creation of Work Breakdown Structures, definition of task structures,
      coordination of subcontractors, monitoring of job progress, analysis of changes, and
      problem solving

  • - Develops plans including budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements
      for several major portions of a program

  • - Establishes and defines program plan requirements and directs or performs in-depth studies
      to determine optimum program plans

  • - Coordinates interdepartmental development of program plans

  • - Interfaces with vendors and customers and performs extensive investigations as required

  • - Responsible for contractor schedule updates throughout the program

  • - Uses the schedule to analyze the impact of change orders, delays, and any other schedule

  • - Works very closely with the project manager and the subcontractors during the preparations
      and updating of the schedule

  • - Produces critical scheduling information for the project team's use

  • - Monitors performance reports against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule
      objectives are met; arranges modifications as required

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position can require long hours and weekend work.


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Primary Location: 

Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico


  • - Bachelor's (or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of direct experience, or a combination
      of both education and work experience

  • - Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance


  • - Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories
      and concepts

  • - Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult

  • - Independently determines and develops approach to solutions

  • - Past industry experience either in Government, Military, DoD or DoE

  • - Current U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance
